On behalf of the exec­u­tive com­mit­tee, we invite you to become a mem­ber of the Catal­y­sis Club of Philadel­phia. We have a tra­di­tion of meet­ing our fel­low sci­en­tists to dis­cuss the lat­est devel­op­ments in the field of catal­y­sis since 1949, when a group of sev­en sci­en­tists (A. Farkas, F. G. Cia­pet­ta, R. Hans­ford, H. Heine­mann, R. Kennedy, K. A. Krieger and A. G. Oblad) gath­ered in Philadel­phia to dis­cuss the pos­si­bil­i­ty of hold­ing reg­u­lar meet­ings. This was the begin­ning of the Catal­y­sis Club of Philadel­phia (CCP).

The CCP strives to fos­ter inter­ac­tions with­in the tech­ni­cal com­mu­ni­ty and expose local sci­en­tists to cut­ting edge devel­op­ments in the field of catal­y­sis. This begins with our month­ly meet­ings, where sci­en­tif­ic lead­ers in the catal­y­sis and chem­i­cal com­mu­ni­ty present their recent find­ings. Each tech­ni­cal pre­sen­ta­tion is pre­ced­ed by a social hour and din­ner. This forum pro­vides ample oppor­tu­ni­ty to net­work with fel­low col­leagues and exchange ideas. 

The cur­rent annu­al mem­ber­ship dues are: $25.00 for reg­u­lar mem­bers and $10.00 for stu­dents, post­docs and retirees. A “retiree” is defined as one who has stopped full-time pro­fes­sional activ­i­ties. Mem­ber­ship in the North Amer­i­can Catal­y­sis Soci­ety is includ­ed when you become a mem­ber of the Catal­y­sis Club of Philadel­phia. A list of com­pa­ny rep­re­sen­ta­tives is avail­able in our website.

4. Stu­dent mem­bers can par­tic­i­pate in poster award com­pe­ti­tion to be more rec­og­nized for their out­stand­ing work in aca­d­e­m­ic and indus­try com­mu­ni­ties. Win­ner of stu­dent poster award will be giv­en an oppor­tu­ni­ty to present their work at cer­tain meet­ings. Detail infor­ma­tion on poster ses­sion will be shared in future announcements.
