After post\u00addoc\u00adtor\u00adal stays at Cam\u00adbridge and Basle he car\u00adried out his habil\u00adi\u00adta\u00adtion under the super\u00advi\u00adsion of Pro\u00adfes\u00adsor Ertl at Fritz Haber Insti\u00adtute in Berlin (1989). Lat\u00ader he accept\u00aded the call for a Full Pro\u00adfes\u00adsor\u00adship of Inor\u00adgan\u00adic Chem\u00adistry at Frank\u00adfurt Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty. In 1994 he was appoint\u00aded his cur\u00adrent posi\u00adtion as Direc\u00adtor at the Fritz Haber Insti\u00adtute of the Max Planck Soci\u00adety in Berlin.
