Mur\u00adray Group, Depart\u00adment of Chem\u00adistry, Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty of Penn\u00adsyl\u00adva\u00adnia<\/em> <\/p>\n<p><strong>Abstract<\/strong> \u2014 The pro\u00adton exchange mem\u00adbrane fuel cell (PEMFC) is a crit\u00adi\u00adcal tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy to enhance the clean, sus\u00adtain\u00adable pro\u00adduc\u00adtion and usage of ener\u00adgy, but prac\u00adti\u00adcal appli\u00adca\u00adtion remains chal\u00adleng\u00ading because of the high cost and low dura\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty of the cath\u00adode cat\u00ada\u00adlysts that per\u00adform oxy\u00adgen reduc\u00adtion reac\u00adtion (ORR). Efforts have been placed on the study of intro\u00adduc\u00ading first-row tran\u00adsi\u00adtion met\u00adals in Pt-M alloys to reduce the Pt load\u00ading and mod\u00adu\u00adlate geo\u00admet\u00adric, struc\u00adtur\u00adal and elec\u00adtron\u00adic effects. To fur\u00adther improve the ORR reac\u00adtion rate and cat\u00ada\u00adlysts sta\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty, alloys that adopt an inter\u00admetal\u00adlic struc\u00adture, espe\u00adcial\u00adly the tetrag\u00ado\u00adnal L1<sub>0<\/sub>-PtM phase, has been one of the most promis\u00ading mate\u00adri\u00adals. In this con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adtion, monodis\u00adperse PtCo nanocrys\u00adtals (NCs) with well-defined size and Co com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adtion are syn\u00adthe\u00adsized via solvother\u00admal meth\u00adods. The trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtion from face-cen\u00adtered cubic (fcc) to ordered face-cen\u00adtered tetrag\u00ado\u00adnal (fct) struc\u00adture was achieved via ther\u00admal anneal\u00ading. Depend\u00ading on the selec\u00adtion of trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtion meth\u00adods, dif\u00adfer\u00adent degrees of order\u00ading were intro\u00adduced and fur\u00adther cor\u00adre\u00adlat\u00aded with their ORR per\u00adfor\u00admance. A detailed study of the anneal\u00ading tem\u00adper\u00ada\u00adture and com\u00adpo\u00adsi\u00adtion depen\u00addent degree of order\u00ading is also high\u00adlight\u00aded.
