This Award is giv\u00aden to rec\u00adog\u00adnize Dr. Chen\u2019s sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adtions to the advance\u00adment of envi\u00adron\u00adment catal\u00ady\u00adsis and tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy. Dr. Chen\u2019s research has led to the dis\u00adcov\u00adery and suc\u00adcess\u00adful devel\u00adop\u00adment and com\u00admer\u00adcial\u00adiza\u00adtion of (1) small pore mol\u00ade\u00adc\u00adu\u00adlar sieve sup\u00adport\u00aded tran\u00adsi\u00adtion met\u00adal cat\u00ada\u00adlysts for the Selec\u00adtive Cat\u00adalyt\u00adic Reduc\u00adtion (SCR) of NOx with NH3; (2) NOx adsor\u00adber cat\u00ada\u00adlysts for heavy duty diesel emis\u00adsion con\u00adtrol; and (3) sus\u00adtain\u00adable tech\u00adnolo\u00adgies for the con\u00adtrol of volatile organ\u00adic com\u00adpound (VOC) emis\u00adsions from indus\u00adtri\u00adal process\u00ades. In addi\u00adtion, his research has led to the devel\u00adop\u00adment of low tem\u00adper\u00ada\u00adture emis\u00adsion con\u00adtrol tech\u00adnolo\u00adgies to meet future emis\u00adsion stan\u00addards.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Chen has been invit\u00aded to give lec\u00adtures at var\u00adi\u00adous uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adties as well as on nation\u00adal and inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal sci\u00aden\u00adtif\u00adic meet\u00adings. He has pub\u00adlished 13 patents and over 50 pub\u00adli\u00adca\u00adtions. In addi\u00adtion, Dr. Chen has served the catal\u00ady\u00adsis com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty in sev\u00ader\u00adal lead\u00ader\u00adship roles.<\/p>\n<p>The award includes an hon\u00ado\u00adrar\u00adi\u00adum ($1,000) and a plaque.
