\nAbstract<\/strong> \u2014 In this paper, we describe three intrin\u00adsic deac\u00adti\u00adva\u00adtion modes observed in exper\u00adi\u00admen\u00adtal cobalt Fis\u00adch\u00ader-Trop\u00adsch syn\u00adthe\u00adsis cat\u00ada\u00adlysts: cobalt oxi\u00adda\u00adtion reversible by mild hydro\u00adgen treat\u00adment, cobalt agglom\u00ader\u00ada\u00adtion, and cobalt-sup\u00adport mixed oxide for\u00adma\u00adtion. All three mech\u00ada\u00adnisms involve redox trans\u00adfor\u00adma\u00adtion of the cat\u00adalyt\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly active cobalt met\u00adal.

<\/a>Biog\u00adra\u00adphy<\/strong> \u2014 Gabor Kiss received his M.Sc. in chem\u00adi\u00adcal engi\u00adneer\u00ading from the Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty of Veszprem (now Pan\u00adnon Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty), Hun\u00adgary, in 1981. He worked in the Hun\u00adgar\u00adi\u00adan oil indus\u00adtry for eight years before enrolling the grad\u00adu\u00adate school at the Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty of Mia\u00admi. After receiv\u00ading his Ph.D. in chem\u00adistry in 1993, he accept\u00aded a posi\u00adtion at Exxon\u2019s (now Exxon\u00adMo\u00adbil) Cor\u00adpo\u00adrate Research Lab\u00ado\u00adra\u00adto\u00adries in Clin\u00adton, NJ, where he is cur\u00adrent\u00adly a Sr. Sci\u00aden\u00adtif\u00adic Asso\u00adciate. His research inter\u00adests include the kinet\u00adics, ther\u00admo\u00addy\u00adnam\u00adics, and mech\u00ada\u00adnism of both homo\u00adge\u00adneous and het\u00adero\u00adge\u00adneous cat\u00adalyt\u00adic process\u00ades.
