Nicholas Del\u00adgass (Max\u00adine Spencer Nichols Emer\u00adi\u00adtus Pro\u00adfes\u00adsor of Chem\u00adi\u00adcal Engi\u00adneer\u00ading at Pur\u00addue Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty) is the recip\u00adi\u00adent of the 2013 Her\u00adman Pines Award in Catal\u00ady\u00adsis. This Award is giv\u00aden to rec\u00adog\u00adnize Prof. Del\u00adgass\u2019 out\u00adstand\u00ading con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adtions to cat\u00ada\u00adlyst char\u00adac\u00adter\u00adi\u00adza\u00adtion, reac\u00adtion and cat\u00ada\u00adlyst chem\u00adistry, and advanced cat\u00ada\u00adlyst design. Prof. Del\u00adgass first intro\u00adduced the appli\u00adca\u00adtions of M\u00f6ss\u00adbauer spec\u00adtra and XPS to the catal\u00ady\u00adsis com\u00admu\u00adni\u00adty.<\/p>\n
Prof. Del\u00adgass has served on the edi\u00adto\u00adr\u00adi\u00adal boards of lead\u00ading catal\u00ady\u00adsis jour\u00adnals such as Jour\u00adnal of Catal\u00ady\u00adsis and as chairs for inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal catal\u00ady\u00adsis con\u00adfer\u00adences. He is a gift\u00aded teacher, win\u00adning the Pur\u00addue School of Chem\u00adi\u00adcal Engi\u00adneer\u00ading Teach\u00ading Award\u00ading for sev\u00aden times. Prof. Del\u00adgass has been invit\u00aded to give more than 190 lec\u00adtures on nation\u00adal and inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal sci\u00aden\u00adtif\u00adic meet\u00adings.
