Farkas, F. G. Cia\u00adpet\u00adta, R. Hans\u00adford, H. Heine\u00admann, R. Kennedy, K. A. Krieger and A. G. Oblad) gath\u00adered in Philadel\u00adphia to dis\u00adcuss the pos\u00adsi\u00adbil\u00adi\u00adty of hold\u00ading reg\u00adu\u00adlar meet\u00adings in the sci\u00adence of catal\u00ady\u00adsis. This was the begin\u00adning of the Catal\u00ady\u00adsis Club of Philadel\u00adphia; 59&nbsp;years lat\u00ader we con\u00adtin\u00adue this tra\u00addi\u00adtion by meet\u00ading our fel\u00adlow sci\u00aden\u00adtists to dis\u00adcuss the lat\u00adest devel\u00adop\u00adments in the field of catal\u00ady\u00adsis. These are the high\u00adlights:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Pro\u00adgrams<\/strong> \u2013 The month\u00adly meet\u00adings will con\u00adtin\u00adue, with our new for\u00admat fea\u00adtur\u00ading a brief pre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtion by a local grad\u00adu\u00adate stu\u00addent or post-doc and a lec\u00adture after din\u00adner. Pro\u00adfes\u00adsor John Vohs, Uni\u00adver\u00adsi\u00adty of Penn\u00adsyl\u00adva\u00adnia and recip\u00adi\u00adent of the 2007 Catal\u00ady\u00adsis Club of Philadel\u00adphia Award, is our first speak\u00ader. The joint meet\u00ading with the Catal\u00ady\u00adsis Soci\u00adety of Met\u00adro\u00adpol\u00adi\u00adtan New York will be held on Novem\u00adber 15 at the Bucks Coun\u00adty Sher\u00ada\u00adton, Lang\u00adhorne, PA. For the sec\u00adond time, the annu\u00adal stu\u00addent poster com\u00adpe\u00adti\u00adtion will be held on March 13, 2008.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Dues<\/strong> \u2013 Dues for the 2007-08 sea\u00adson will con\u00adtin\u00adue at $10.00 ($5.00 for the local club and $5.00 to the nation\u00adal club). ; Dues for stu\u00addents will be $6.00. You can pay your dues to your com\u00adpa\u00adny rep\u00adre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtive, to our trea\u00adsur\u00ader (Steve Har\u00adris at <a href=\"mailto:stephen.harris@lyondell.com\">stephen.\u200bharris@\u200blyondell.\u200bcom<\/a>) or at the month\u00adly meet\u00adings. After one drink, the bar will serve as a cash bar dur\u00ading the social hour. Walk-ins and non-mem\u00adbers din\u00adner fees will be $35.00. We strong\u00adly encour\u00adage advance reser\u00adva\u00adtions for the meet\u00adings. We can NOT guar\u00adan\u00adtee din\u00adner for a large num\u00adber of walk-ins.
