History and Meeting Philosophy<\/h3>\n

 
\nNECZA<\/strong> is an out\u00adgrowth of dis\u00adcus\u00adsions held after ses\u00adsions at the 1997 Zeo\u00adlite and Lay\u00adered Mate\u00adri\u00adals Gor\u00addon Con\u00adfer\u00adence, Chaired by Charles Kres\u00adge. NECZA<\/strong> seeks to max\u00adi\u00admize dis\u00adcus\u00adsion and inter\u00adac\u00adtions between the sci\u00aden\u00adtists who are attend\u00ading the meet\u00ading. As such, the tech\u00adni\u00adcal pro\u00adgram tends to be a bit flex\u00adi\u00adble with con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adtions from a vari\u00adety of back\u00adgrounds.<\/p>\n

Tra\u00addi\u00adtion\u00adal\u00adly, speak\u00aders are encour\u00adaged to pre\u00adpare \u201cprovoca\u00adtive\u201d talks and to rig\u00ador\u00adous\u00adly keep the time for their talk which includes 5 to 10 min\u00adutes dis\u00adcus\u00adsion time. The audi\u00adence is STRONGLY encour\u00adaged to \u201cpar\u00adtic\u00adi\u00adpate\u201d (even, for exam\u00adple, by bring\u00ading 1 \u2014 2 over\u00adheads relat\u00aded to the talks to open up dis\u00adcus\u00adsion). The abstracts of pre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtions are attached.
\nThe poster ses\u00adsion and grad\u00adu\u00adate stu\u00addent talks have been a sta\u00adple of NECZA<\/strong> meet\u00adings. This is a won\u00adder\u00adful oppor\u00adtu\u00adni\u00adty for stu\u00addents to \u2018get their feet wet\u2019 in a rel\u00ada\u00adtive\u00adly friend\u00adly set\u00adting.<\/p>\n
