Pro­fes­sor Jing­guang Chen, from the Uni­ver­si­ty of Delaware and Pass Chair of the CCP, pre­sent­ed Pro­fes­sor Dumesic with the 2006 Catal­y­sis Club of Philadel­phia Award for his pio­neer­ing con­tri­bu­tions to the kinet­ics and mech­a­nisms of cat­alyt­ic reac­tions. He is also rec­og­nized for the devel­op­ment of con­cepts and tools for elu­ci­dat­ing struc­ture-prop­er­ty rela­tion­ships for the dis­cov­ery of new cat­a­lysts.

After receiv­ing the award, Prof. Dumesic pre­sent­ed the 2006 Catal­y­sis Club of Philadel­phia Award Lec­ture to a full house: “Cat­alyt­ic Pro­duc­tion of Liq­uid Fuels and Chem­i­cals from Bio­mass-derived Oxy­genat­ed Hydro­car­bons”.
