IACS<\/strong> will present two awards at the 15th ICC in Munich \u2013 the ICC Award and the Heinz Heine\u00admann Award. Please note that the dead\u00adline for nom\u00adi\u00adna\u00adtions is Jan\u00adu\u00adary 15, 2012. All nom\u00adi\u00adna\u00adtions should be sub\u00admit\u00adted to the Sec\u00adre\u00adtary of the IACS by email to the fol\u00adlow\u00ading address: muhler@\u200btechem.\u200brub.\u200bde. The recip\u00adi\u00adents of these awards will be select\u00aded by the IACS Awards Com\u00admit\u00adtee, and it is planned to inform the recip\u00adi\u00adents by March 15, 2012. Both recip\u00adi\u00adents will be invit\u00aded to present a ple\u00adnary pre\u00adsen\u00adta\u00adtion at the ICC in Munich.<\/p>\n

Inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal Catal\u00ady\u00adsis Award<\/strong> The Inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal Catal\u00ady\u00adsis Award will be giv\u00aden to recog\u00adnise and encour\u00adage indi\u00advid\u00adual con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adtions by a young per\u00adson in the field of catal\u00ady\u00adsis, such as the dis\u00adcov\u00adery of the sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant improve\u00adment of a cat\u00adalyt\u00adic process, or an impor\u00adtant con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adtion to the under\u00adstand\u00ading of cat\u00adalyt\u00adic phe\u00adnom\u00ade\u00adna. The recip\u00adi\u00adent must not have passed her\/his 45th birth\u00adday by May 1 of the award year. The Award con\u00adsists of a plaque and a check for $5,000.<\/p>\n

Heinz Heine\u00admann Award in Cat\u00ada\u00adlyst Sci\u00adence and Tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy<\/strong> The Heinz Heine\u00admann Award in Catal\u00ady\u00adsis will be giv\u00aden to an indi\u00advid\u00adual or a group for sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcant con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adtions to cat\u00ada\u00adlyst sci\u00adence and tech\u00adnol\u00ado\u00adgy achieved between Jan\u00adu\u00adary 1, 2007, and Decem\u00adber 31, 2011. The Award con\u00adsists of a plaque and a check for $5,000.<\/p>\n

Nom\u00adi\u00adna\u00adtion Pro\u00adce\u00addure<\/strong> Nom\u00adi\u00adna\u00adtion of the award should be made before Jan\u00adu\u00adary 15 in the year of an Inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal Con\u00adgress on Catal\u00ady\u00adsis (i.e. Jan\u00adu\u00adary 15, 2012, for the awards made at the 15th ICC<\/strong>), and should include a crit\u00adi\u00adcal eval\u00adu\u00ada\u00adtion of the sig\u00adnif\u00adi\u00adcance of the nominee\u2019s pub\u00adlished work, as well as a state\u00adment about the par\u00adtic\u00adu\u00adlar con\u00adtri\u00adbu\u00adtion on which the nom\u00adi\u00adna\u00adtion is based. Nom\u00adi\u00adna\u00adtions should also include the nominee\u2019s qual\u00adi\u00adfi\u00adca\u00adtions, accom\u00adplish\u00adments and biog\u00adra\u00adphy. Nom\u00adi\u00adna\u00adtion doc\u00adu\u00adments, along with no more than four let\u00adters of sup\u00adport, should be sub\u00admit\u00adted elec\u00adtron\u00adi\u00adcal\u00adly as a sin\u00adgle PDF file to the Sec\u00adre\u00adtary of the Inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal Asso\u00adci\u00ada\u00adtion of Catal\u00ady\u00adsis Soci\u00adeties (muhler@\u200btechem.\u200brub.\u200bde<\/a>).The recip\u00adi\u00adent will be required to give a lec\u00adture on her\/his research as part of the Inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal Con\u00adgress on Catal\u00ady\u00adsis at which the award is con\u00adferred (i.e. 15th ICC, July 1\u20136, 2012 in Munich, Ger\u00admany).<\/p>\n

Selec\u00adtion of Award Recip\u00adi\u00adents<\/strong> Selec\u00adtion of the award recip\u00adi\u00adents will be made by an Inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal Com\u00admit\u00adtee com\u00adposed of renowned sci\u00aden\u00adtists or engi\u00adneers. This Com\u00admit\u00adtee will be appoint\u00aded by the Pres\u00adi\u00addent of the Inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal Asso\u00adci\u00ada\u00adtion of Catal\u00ady\u00adsis Soci\u00adeties, sub\u00adse\u00adquent to pro\u00adpos\u00adals from the Exec\u00adu\u00adtive Com\u00admit\u00adtee of the Inter\u00adna\u00adtion\u00adal Asso\u00adci\u00ada\u00adtion of Catal\u00ady\u00adsis Soci\u00adeties.
